Hi, I’m Ellen — the florist behind FL.owl studio, a floral design studio founded in London and now based in Wadhurst, East Sussex.
I create seasonal wedding and event flowers inspired by the landscape and shaped by the changing seasons — natural, textural florals with movement, softness and an undone feel.
My love of flowers began early, growing up with a small patch of garden my mum set aside just for me. I later studied textile design and spent time working in fashion, but it was floristry that truly felt like home.
After years freelancing for other florists, FL.owl studio grew into a space for creating weddings and events that feel personal, thoughtful and deeply connected to each couple and their surroundings.
Every project begins with a considered floral direction — exploring colour, texture, seasonality and atmosphere to create flowers that feel naturally at home within your day and venue.
I work with British-grown flowers wherever possible and continue to build relationships with local growers here in East Sussex. Seasonality sits at the heart of my work, not only for its beauty, but for its lower environmental impact too.
Sustainability is an important part of my approach. I avoid floral foam and single-use plastics wherever possible, creating florals with a mindful and low-impact approach.
Above all, I care about creating flowers that feel expressive, relaxed and true to each celebration.
